| In my back yard, a dry year has yielded best. Because the 10 acres most years you couldn't plant, you did. Old timers understood this and to the best of their stamina, installed tile. They are clay tile and have lived beyond their expectancies. More acres are rented now than are owned and contrary to what you may believe or heard for the majority, money is spent on rent and fertilizer, for someone else's property. I'm a forth generation drainage contractor, and even I am guilty of this. Almost every piece of property we farm has a "For Sale" sign on it for over ten years. Would have, should have, could have. Would have cost me least...hindsight is always 20/20, looking back always seems fuzzy...
