I currently run a 4020 on a 1209 mower and a 510 baler. I hope my future is as bright as your present. I can't wait for a better baler and tractor, but gotta start somewhere and I get a long ok.

There is nothing wrong with running a 1209. Mine had the 1 1/2 cut knife and it was a dependable mower. Ran it on a powershift 4020 the this 4430. It was slower than a modern discbine but the price tag reflects that.
The 510 baler I had never gave me any mechanical problems. Yes, it had its quirks. I ran it on a 1086. Weaving around like a drunk to start a bale cause if you didnt you would roll a belt and the always fun stop and back up to kick bales out. I was pretty good at fishing the twine into the twine arm! Best day I ever had was 114 bales. Got rained out or I would have got more. Dont want to go back but I have no real complaints. Driving equipment like that will make you a operator not just a steering wheel holder. |
