Pilot Grove, Missouri | If you get the corn offf early and get the drill in right behind the combine 35# with a drill is a good cover crop. If you get it in later 50# would be better. I like to drill beans into the rye after it is headed out and then kill it. Big rye kills easy (a qt. to 1.5 qt of 4lb gly) I have also killed it earlier. A couple years ago Got the rye in late and it didn't emerge until march, so I had some marestail. I killed it earlier a 1.5 qt of gly and a pint of 2-4d killed the rye and the marestail. Patrick | |
