Ripley, Ontario Canada
I feed a mainly corn silage ration to my cows. I limit feed the corn. While I was feeding every day this winter, (loader tractor also plows driveways so was going or plugged in every day) in the past I have fed every other day. Yes cows will eat more on day 1, but they adapt to every other day feeding, and bossy cows eventually leave the feeder and others get a chance. I also had a bale of hay available all the time.

Wet feed will have more tons per acre, less leaf loss than dry. Also less feed loss. In your climate dry hay can always be a challenge, same as here, 2 miles from Lake Huron. Wrapping is always plan b when making dry hay here.
