Central Missouri | I can make that assumption because I raised 220 bushel corn in 2014 and NoTilled beans last year and I have basically no stalks remaining. I know, I know. It's not 250 but close enough to consider it in the same range.
If you have the microbial activity along with your worms and a healthy soil, then the residue can be digested rather well by itself. If that is out of balance (which it is for you, otherwise we wouldn't be having this conversation) Delmarva Ag's recipe will get the biological activity in your soil up to speed.
I'm to the point on my soil that I am going NoTill corn corn bean rotation just to give enough residue. (And that's with a 180 bushel 3 year average).
You should look into the Solvitra test and the Haney test. They measure biological activity. My county NRCS asked to do the Solvitra test on one of my fields 3 years ago and I was the highest in the county if I remember correctly. The Haney test is good. I don't know much about it.
