re: planting soybean deeper

I'm interested in theory of why that helps. Are you able to expand on your theory?
I plant soybeans 1/2 inch an often want to go deeper for other reasons. As you get closer to 2 inches, what are the emergence issues? Into what soil types are you able to go that deep?
