I think that if you're literally going to burn it off (fire), I don't think you'll have much trouble with slugs....almost like conventional tillage beans. What kind of growth stage are the beans at now? Would scorching the crop be a big problem? Just trying to visualize this. For sure, the slugs would find it hard to get any shade!
