Eastern Iowa | I put 50 units of treated urea on dry with the planter and come back with 110 side dress around V5. I use saddle tanks and a 3pt bar. It has worked very well for me and I like the saddle tanks and 3pt bar. I started this 4 years ago when i was waiting on a bar from the coop. This way I can do it when my fields are ready and not when the coop is. Bought my own storage tanks (2) 2000 gallons and 1000 gallon tender trailer. My bar is an old 12 row cultivator that has coulters and 2 shanks. I run the shanks on the flat ground to open up the ground and work in the 32%. I remove the shanks on the hills and just run coulters. The shanks work best when the corn is 12+ inches... run 6 mph and hill some dirt up on the roots. | |
