Subject: Poll: Better soybean pre... Cover crops or chemicals?

Frytown, Iowa
Thick tall rye?

Or pre chems like fierce, enlite, authority first?

From what I'm seeing today. Yes my parents were able to get out and drill their soybeans before mine... But weed control is better on the 6 foot tall rye even with no herbicides used to kill the rye

Rye could have a fighting chance at becoming the new soybean pre, removing the need for pre chems on later planted soys
------

Another question:
If you spray fierce or enlite on a thick stand of rye along with rup, is the residual chem wasted if it never reaches the soil? Will it reach the soil? Do we need to use residual chems in rye burn downs/ heavy residues?
