Obviously I don't know your situation and it's easy to spend other people's money, but have you considered getting a truck yourself? I took on a few small custom harvesting jobs in 2013 to help justify having a decent combine. 2013 was a dry year and finding an extra truck from local BTOs was no problem. A couple customers even took care of hauling their own grain away with old straight trucks. For 2014, we got a truck, and it's a darn good thing we did. 2014 was a great year in our area and there wouldn't have been a truck to be found anywhere if we hadn't had our own. We are in an area with no rail service or river nearby and it ALWAYS pays to haul corn 25 miles away - sometimes farther. The beans go 120 miles away to a terminal market. At times it would be nice to have a second truck, but between the dump carts, wagons, and combine, we can hold about 2500 bu, so usually the truck can keep up fine. We aren't as efficient as we could be - we don't dump on the go much, mostly due to not having anyone to run the cart while dad is in the truck and I'm in the combine, and if we did have a cart operator, the combine would get more done and we might not be able to keep up with one truck, but the way it is now, I rarely have to wait on the truck unless lines get really bad or there is a rain coming and we don't want to fill all the wagons.

The bottom line is, I would hate to try and custom harvest without having a way to haul it away myself. Our truck and trailer isn't showy, but we picked them both up on online auctions and we have less $ in the whole rig - even after fixing a few things on them - than lots of people do in their hoppers.

To answer your initial question, I agree with the others. Give the customers one bill and give the trucks one person to bill.
