NE Iowa | I'm blessed with crazy steep an contoured fields also. I no-till and don't want the potential erosion from NH3 application. I've tried 28% with herbicides and urea with about every stabilizer made. I've tried Agrotain Ultra, Agrotain Plus, SuperU, ESN, Instinct, and Nutrisphere. All in an attempt to not have to side dress. This year I caved and top-dressed urea with a 3 pt spreader with homemade extensions and tendered with a gravity box with auger. Went faster and worked better than expected. Not hard to keep 3 pt rig off the rows. Applied 200# of DAP (maintenance for corn & soy crop) and 100# of Agrotain treated urea preplant. Then I applied 200# of Agrotain treated urea to 12-16" tall corn. | |
