It is the life and death of berry farmers here. Can't worry about marketing if you can't care for and harvest a crop. We do have multiple good end users/purchasers here though. Oregon Freeze Dry (MRE's), several IQF plants, several juice plants.
They do make a large gross on few acres. Our Russian Orthodox community is heavily involved in caneberries and they use it as a tool to "prove up" the large dollar amounts needed to build houses on small parcels of EFU land. | |
