"Hawk cut" floor is not cut with a chisel. Hawk cut floor is a little harder to sweep than a smooth floor but it is 5x easier to sweep than a chisel cut floor.
If you kneel down on a floor that was cut with a chisel you will know what it is without looking at it. It looks exactly like you would imagine would happen if you drive a chisel through a piece of sheet metal. It tears down the middle and drives both sides out.
