Subject: RE: Furrow irrigation and soybean production practices

Central Nebraska
I understand what you mean by polypipe but have a couple of questions, not trying to cause an argument just wondering why different regions have different practices. Why do you use polypipe instead of a long lasting pipe? We use both plastic and aluminum irrigation pipe, some of it 8" and some 10" depending on size of well or pump. The pipe has gates spaced every 20". All of the pipe is 30' long and is gasketed. Some of our pipe is up to 40 years old.
