Surprisingly there are many accounts of good outcomes after short dunking - even in salt water though they would then need a thorough soak in fresh before drying.
Standard practice seems to be leaving for several days in a closed container with rice or some other desiccant.
The camera is the most likely problem area if you had muddy water inside it that is probably going to be difficult to get clean
