Eastern Iowa | I've run late model Deere and New Holland. The Deere I liked, maintenance was low and repair costs were as well. But it was a boat anchor if things got wet. All of these higher capacity center pivot mowers have extremely long tongues which is an issue with the cut in hills. I switched three years ago to a New Holland self propelled H8060. The ride is great, and I like the cutter head--no longer have the issues with cutting over hills, but cutterbar modules are pricey.
The more hay we put in these windrows, the harder it is to condition properly and dry. | |
