Subject: Compaction, Compaction, Compaction

I have noticed that some of the best looking corn around is a couple of guys that run old 4 row or 6 row deere planters with no fancy stuff on them. They use a light weight two wheel drive open station tractor. One sprays and side dresses with a M Farmall. In the fall they have 6620 combines and wagons sit on end of field. They aren't running around in fall with a 45,000 pound combine or almost a 100,000 pound loaded grain cart or a heavy 1000 gallon sprayer. I think compaction is a bigger factor then we all believe.
