I suspect you are refering to the oil pressure switchgauge. It should be set to shut the engine down when the oil pressure drops below a safe level. Apparently it was set at 30psi, which sounds ok and now you have set it to 0 which doesnt sound ok. You must hold the button in until the engine builds oil pressure, then you should be able to release it. If the switchgauge is set at 30 then it must climb above 30. Of course the other switches can also be shutting you down, coolant level, oil level, pivot safety, etc.
