| I have always had good luck with Hesston mowers. You would be needing a flail conditioner for grass hay the theory is that the flails will scratch the wax coating from the blades of grass to allow air to dry the crop faster. Roller conditioners will not do much for you in grass hay. They work on the premise of breaking and crimping the stems on the plants you mow which works great on alfalfa and such. 1 other big plus with a flail conditioner is that there is much less air turbulence behind the curtain so they tend to streak less in light crops. | |
