canada | I've welded up worse cracks than that but if at all possible use mag particle to make sure you grind out the entire Crack. Sometimes you have to chase it a long ways. Weld one side, grind the root smooth on the other side, check for cracks, weld the other side. I use a good mig, grind each pass and checks for cracks each pass. When you're done grind the cap smooth and give it a shot of paint. And stay the heck away from it when you're seating the bead and filling it just in case. Tire shops here won't touch a rim that's been welded. | |
