Thanks for your response Pat, closing the seed trench I think is more difficult with this drill because it has a single rib press wheel (like the one in the pic). It was cereal rye that I was planting into not annual ryegrass. I've never had a slug problem in the past but its something I can look into. Yes the stand is consistent through most of the field expect where I had standing water after heavy rains. Do you think if I would like to continue this production system I should switch to a planter that has more options for residue management and closing capabilities?
