Is the stand consistently the same throughout the field?

Wondering about potential slug damage reducing stand.....

I'm not sure that I've ever seen much of an issue with hairpinning with any crop planted into any residue, but that must be a "here" thing. Heard about it, read about it, never worried much about it. Closing the trench is an entirely different thing, though. Thats just gotta happen for a good stand to be possible.
