Here's the problem with your agronomist's recommendation.....
Extreme is a premix of Glyphosate + Pursuit. Pursuit is VERY safe on alfalfa, and is labeled to use on alfalfa. So, using Extreme would be no better than using straight glyphosate/ Roundup.
