SW Ontario | Pray you get enough rain to get it germinated without drying up and dying. In my experience ryegrass is one of the easier ones to get established by broadcasting. Better to get it in the ground tho
Edit: finding seeding is best around v4. Enough time to get established but late enough to not affect corn yield. Old drill is our way of testing establishment of drilled cover crop before spending significant dollars on tool to cover more acres.
