SW Ohio | Here's the rub...7720 had a smoldering fire on the left end of the engine compartment, the fiberglass/plastic?? seal around the bell housing was charred and disintegrated, bean dust under the seat was also smoldering, took an hour and a half to blow all the crap and embers out of there and remove what was left of the fiberglass seal. I assume the seal is there to keep radiator air from blowing more dust under the seat and direct it forward out of the engine compartment, so i was thinking of using the expanding foam in a can as a sealer as any other method looks to be a big job. Anyone have any thoughts on this or alternatives???
FWIW we had 20 acres of beans to go when bro' noticed the smell when unhooking header, by the time fire was out it was raining, got 2.5 inches that night and dampness since, guess I have a little time to fix it. | |
