It means a lot to hear from folks and the kind words about EMT's. From experience we do not hear it much as when we drop of people at the ER that is usually it for us, not very often do we even find out the outcomes of the people we have just helped. Growing up in a small community and now working in it does have rewards and downfalls. The look of comfort that i can see on peoples face when they recognize us helps weed out the tough days. It is a very rewarding career that has some very tough times and sometimes a shoulder to lean on goes a long ways to help us cope with some of the tragedies we have dealt with. 

My career started with the volunteer fire dept here and then i turned it into a full time career by switching to EMS. I work 4 on 4 off so it allows time for farming now that i am taking it over and hope to one day come back to the farm full time. Some people say farming is stressful but for me it is my stress reliever.
