Blue Earth, MN | I've seen a few different sets of data from the past growing season (South central MN) showing a yield decrease on corn that had 5-6 gallon/acre of 10-34-0 applied. In the past, I've seen data that shows placing some 10-34-0 with the seed at planting doesn't give a yield increase every year. BUT, I've never seen where it actually lowers yield. That seems strange to me especially considering we had a wet and cool spring which is the type of conditions I figured seed placed phosphorus would help.
What possibly would have the 10-34-0 done to cause a yield decrease? The data I've seen just measured yield not final stand counts so I thinking germination issues may have existed.
Anyone have theories? | |
