With today's tractors, manufacturers don't help understanding what a HP is:
JD tells that when pulling at a given speed there is a boost of some 30 to 50 HP on a 200+ tractor, plus, when using PTO there is another boost, but both boosts are not cumulative.
AGCO has a similar pattern.
So, as a user, my question would be: I need a tractor to pull an implement that needs xxx HP in standard conditions. I have also implements that need xxx HP on the PTO. So what is does that mean for me when they say xxx HP engine plus boost HPs under this or that condition: does that mean that the boost has an increased fatigue effect? Does that mean that the boost is only there to cope with critical situations?
Where is the user oriented info?
I have the definite feeling that manufacturers don't like to give facts, it's a lot more of marketting crap.
