and yes, the veteran community as a whole can be a tough group to connect with, but that having been said without some of the guys who helped/taught me I would not have what I do today, as starting farming from scratch, by yourself Is nearly impossible.
I just became involved with a group called the farmer veteran coalition, and their goal seems to be pretty much what it says, hoping that it will grow and be an asset for younger veterans who want to farm, and farmers who want to retire, but time will tell. At least they seem to be becoming more mainstream, not just organic small farm stuff. we will see as they grow | |
