My deck is only 12x16 cedar so no hidden fasteners and one step and four of us did it in five hours so 20 man hours. If yours took twice as long you would be paying $100/hour. The last carpenter I hired charged $25. Ask him how much per hour to do it by the hour. Heck if you're not too far I'd do it for less than $4250.
