What appears to be a rather straightforward duel between Detroit and Japan is actually a little more complicated. Yes, Chevy's 2.2-liter twin-turbo V6 IndyCar engine does carry the Bowtie logo and has heavy involvement from GM Racing, but it's designed and built in England by Ilmor Engineering.

Honda's version of the 2.2-liter twin-turbo V6 might wear the traditional red cam covers that adorn the Japanese automaker's performance engines (Think NSX, Type R), but it's designed and built in Southern California by Honda Performance Development.
