That is an understatement.

Someone on this site once described triticale as something like "nail it to a fence post and it won't winterkill tough", which I thought was pretty accurate.


Depends on the variety. I planted tamcale 5019 the one year and it winter killed way worse than my wheat that year and I thought was really thin. However it did get up to shoulder high and made around 16 tons.
