east central iowa | They never called for a dry may actually called for a cooler wet may. My forecast in June isn't even that hot or dry from them. They don't have a lot of heat predicted until july. I don't know how much faith to put in their forecast either but if you watch some of their info they at least show you how they get their forecast and the analog years they are comparing to. I do find it comical that if they were predicting a cool wet summer with above average yields and lower corn prices most would believe them. That is exactly what they predicted the last 2 years. The south america crop problems were predicted by them a longtime in advance and at least they don't just go with the crowd or put out a forecast that gives equal chances of hotter dryer or cooler. this spring their 11 month in advance forecast for my area was more accurate than or local weather 7 day so I am a little reluctant to ignore the rest of their forecast completely. | |
