On the 1770 around year 2000 we have had great luck with our 12row. Ours is a conservation with fertilizer frame. Never had frame trouble. Have 2x2 and 2 225gal tanks on it as well as 3bu boxes. These are MEplus units and are good, but not as durable as the XP, but I've never had a problem with them. Did have to weld a blade bolt as there was a crack, but no other welding on it. Don't know how a 16row compares.
