west central Iowa | My Dad smoked most of his life. My Mom had to have bypass surgery when she was in her 60s. It was pretty hard on her and she was in intensive care after surgery longer than most people. At one point she looked up at Dad and said if you hadn't smoked around me all those years I probably wouldn't be here. Dad threw away his cigarettes right then and never smoked again. But he never said anything to any of us and it was a while before we figured it out. | |
