Calves ingest quite a bit of the amnionic fluid before birth, and that combined with gastric juices, makes a very greasy and sticky dark brown/black stool with lots of small lumps. You'll see this for the first several hours, then if they're drinking, they'll begin to pass very smooth pasty yellow manure.
