nw pa | supposed to be screen that is held on by that missing screw. Any of the hair grabbers will work. need to be careful with any kind of wire,it could get caught and then you will be taking it apart. usually there is and access panel in the back of tub but not always. You can cut one out and take the trap apart. But wouldn't do that only as last step. Taking and older trap apart with out much room to work could lead to major work unless your skilled enough to do it.
try some liquid plumber,commercial power if available or any of them. then the plastic hair grabbers.
