Subject: RE: EVERY bin needs fixed when empty.

Its too late this trip but when the bin gets empty take out sump short bolts that are on the edge of the trap door. Put in instead 3 or 4 inch bolts with heads up,,,with a double bur, actually a triple nut, one above and two below tightened in normal double nut fashion. One of those self locking nuts would be better. Idea is when it plugs you use the standing up bolts to rake the plug loose. Never had that fail yet.

Sickle sections welded to edge of lid would work also but more to get installed. Other thing if you have it happen alot is another 3/4' pipe above the auger tube with a rebar or pipe inside with a whole rake on a bar you can bust up a clump.

Actually unloading it from the side works well also all the while working the center trap and it generally comes loose after a while. Might try turning on the fans for a couple days and making sure that clump dries out.

IF your real desperate you can take the unloader auger out of the tube,,,put in a 2 or 3 inch PVC with an elbow pointed up on the end,,,no hub couple it to a Cheetah tire bead blaster and blast away till you get a good grain flow around the pipe.

Another thing that should be in every bin is a tall "A" frame sump guard so the flowing grain has to go thru it and the clumps are broken up by the bars on the angle OR more sickle sections welded to it.

Poking from the top roof hole is hit and miss
