| The two stick zero turn are simple to make, fundamentally each stick controls one rear wheel. Match them for going straight, slow down one side for turning that direction, reverse that side for "zero" turns. The one I have has too little weight and too little tire surface to do zero turns well. Even on the gravel drive way if I try for a fast and zero radius turn one wheel is cutting a trench. I'd think a joy stick or steering wheel gets coupled to the two drives in some sort of linkage so gets about the same results but probably hardly ever allows for making a U or 90 turn on the spot. I've not driven either. I think the two sticks gives me a more versatile mower, but makes me do some of the work keeping it under control.
