The 12.5 block can always be turned up if you want more power,not real sure how high the 8.1 can go.There are 10 year old generators with thousands and thousands of hours on them with 12.5 power,if you could see the components side by side the 12.5 would look pretty impressive.Not sure if Deere went to the 13.5 just for emissions,but the 12.5 was sound
