Frytown, Iowa | For 5% of your time at work you are involuntarily having to work for whom you are in debt to.
If you work a 9 hour day... You are a slave to your debtor for 30 minutes of that day if you maxed out your income/debt.
For a half hour your working NOT spending time doing something you want to do... Just to give your earnings to the lender.
It is slavery. Voluntary slavery is a good form of slavery. Often bettering the slaves life substantially.
How would this be any different than a person voluntarily offering his life to another in a form of being bought? There are a percentage of people that absolutely can not manage money. And would be far better off concentrating on simple tasks under order of another whom they trust. Anyone stuck in a 1970s single wide trailer can be a perfect example of perhaps someone who cannot manage money well. If they committed to someone who could turn their talents into gold during the day and provide them with a 5 year old double wide and 3 meals a day I'd bet that would be a good deal.
But of course you want to imagine racial slavery as the only form so you can get on your high horse, point down and say "least I don't favor slavery!" Meanwhile you have submitted the better part of 30 maybe 40 years in debt as a voluntary slave to a bank. Working countless hours week after week for them... 2.5 hours a week is 130 hours a year. Or in 30 years 3900 hours. Divide that by 9 hour days and a half hour a day for 30 years turns out a total of 433 nine hour DAYS you voluntarily slaved for another. Don't you get it? Racial slavery was not a form of slavery back then. Perhaps it happened on a small scale. But slavery was in and out a form of one bettering themselves.
Just. Like. You.
