Statesville, NC | My 5455 has the big lever, which is a mechanical synchronized shuttle that you have to clutch. It's also a dry clutch, with a four speed, high and low range, and a hi-lo power shift (they call it a speed shift). Mine is the cheapest version of that tractor. With the small lever, it should have a wet clutch, and I think you can shuttle it without the clutch. I'm not completely sure on that. The dry clutch in mine is somewhat touchy, but I have gotten used to it. The tractors are very solid, and a little over built for their size. The three point will lift 9000 pounds at the ball ends and 7000 pounds 24" back. Others on this site say the transmission is good for 150 hp. The 5465 is pretty much the same tractor with a six cylinder engine. The cab has plenty of room, ac works good, buddy seat has more leg room than a JD. It's fairly easy to service. Mine has never let me down in 2300 hours. The two speed power shift (speedshift) can be used without the clutch, but it shifts so fast and harsh, I don't use it in high gear on the road. Works great in the field. | |
