I've gotten away with exactly that same situation. If it doesn't rain though, you're screwed. On our farm rain seems to fix everything (I'm not talking a 4 inch flood either). By the way, sorry you lost your dad. My dad is 84. Still going strong. Just got done changing field cultivator teeth while he greased. I know someday I'll be doing it myself but for now I sure enjoy working with him (even though we have lots of those "disc" discussions. If it weren't for my dad I wouldn't know sh!t!
