What crop? I roll all my no till beans I. Corn stalks and wheat stubble usually. I've never rolled small grain planting. Corn I usually don't roll either. More concerned with rocks and smooth surface at harvest time for beans. Roll all after planting. On tilled ground if it happened to get too mellow,we sometimes roll before planting to firm it so it plants better.
