Subject: Need advice on an interesting wet spot.

NW Iowa
So we rented a farm on which the owner who was farming it plowed it up until last year and never ripped it. It has been fairly wet this year and just recently it got dry enough to plant this farm. When we went to field cultivate, all of the farm was completely grayed off. As I went across the field the dust was blowing and my tractor just dropped in, and was stuck. So when I looked at the profile of the soil it's 2 inches of dry dirt 3 inches of moist dirt and a couple inches of muck setting on top of a hard pan (presumably the plow pan). So my question is how should we go about handling this spot. Should we keep opening it up to dry it out. Should we leave it and hope it gets better? Should we spread the beans on top and roll them in? My problem with leaving it is if it's completely dry on top isn't the ground sealed up to the point where the muck won't ever really get fit? It's a 20 acre spot so we don't really want to just mud it in. Tia.
