Central Illinois
brudno, I had a neighbor call me because his hired man hit a pole and 1 wire came off the cross member and was hanging down. He asked me to call it in because my Dad lives across the road from the pole where the damage was. The power company always wants a location number, or account number that is close by the damage. I gave the young man my Dad's address with the road number, town and state, but he needed the account information. Fortunately he found the account by the phone number on the account. I also reported a damaged pole last year and they had to have an account to identify it. I gave them my home account which was more than 2 miles away. If they can't find the damage to their equipment with the road number, county, and state location, they have a problem.

Can we get a system in place that will help these companies identify locations using the road numbers, town, county and state they are located in?

Is there a way to identify locations already?
