Not only large equipment, just think about the difference that manicured yards and city streets make in this water cycle. It's been shown that an overgrazed pasture doesn't have the ability to infiltrate water as well as it previously did.... It seems to me that would be pretty similar to a well mowed yard that needs to be fertilized and irrigated in order to look nice.
