Northeast Iowa
RDB Farms - 5/20/2016 10:38

Have a farm that I strip tilled in march that was to be corn on corn but has been under water almost ever since. It is finally dried up and I am going to freshen the strips and plant it but is has a little volunteer corn on it that I need to kill before I plant it. Chemical guy says select is only option but then have to wait 5 days to plant. are there any other options.

Was your previous hybrid that is causing the volunteer corn both LL and Round Up Resistant? Maybe you can spray LL if it didn't have that trait in last year's hybrid.

Unfortunately most hybrids I encounter have both traits, but might be worth looking into.
