Lancaster, OH | My wife would tell you they are an acquired taste and she hasn't acquired it. I think that statement about cream of wheat is a good one except think corn instead.
I like mine with butter at breakfast, cheese grits for dinner. Some put gravy on them but I haven't.
Considering that it is from white corn and the shortest season white corn hybrid I can remember is about 115 day, it's no wonder you don't see them up there.
Another more southern dish is hominy--like puffed boiled white corn. | |
