We are trying it on some of our beans that got a 3 to 3.5 inch rain after planting them two weeks ago. We have never felt like it hurt in the end and in most cases has provided some benefit. Doing it on the early side of needing has worked better. I wish there was a perfect solution, but that's not the world we live in!
